The February GOGs Meeting in Carlsbad was, if it had to be summed up in just one word, FABULOUS! It was inadvertently OVER sold out with 44 registered and 42 in attendance! Plus, there were FIVE (5) new gals there!

The theme this month was “Is this love?” and in keeping with our theme, we all glued our business cards into a heart on our theme poster – ’cause, yea, we all love what we do! Also, for the gals who chose to participate and brought a blank note card and envelope, we wrote a little love note inside the card and signed it with our name AND cell phone number and collected them all in a card box. During introductions, if a gal put a card in, they got to take a card out, get the love note and send a thank you text to the gal! So fun!

In our marketplace, we had: Amanda Gerard with Sew O’side showing off her custom-crafted bags, key fobs and more; Pattie Lambert the Lip Lady with LipSense – including a cool lip scrub to keep nice lips during the chappy-lip season; and Heather Kent of Heather Feathers Hair Salon showing up with her amazing Davines products and Groupie Love earrings! (Due to a cancellation, Shonna showed up with some of her gently used purses and did a little “yard sale” at the 4th marketplace table 😉 )

Estate Planning attorney Dana Green was the sponsor. She told a story about a case she’s working on that DIDN’T have a trust and now is in probate…. and has been for a few YEARS now. Her motto is an Estate Plan is like a credit card, don’t leave home without one – and certainly don’t WAIT til it’s too late to avoid PROBATE! And she made sure we all understood that if you have just $166,250 in assets, you NEED a trust!

Did you know that realism and optimism do not have to be mutually exclusive? Patricia Wingo, author/speaker/serial entrepreneur and the “been there, done that” realtor delivered an outstanding presentation on the Incredible Power of Realistic Optimism using her own story to share key insights for all of us. We walked away understanding that the power is in the knowing and being optimistic in that knowledge!

There were lots of generous giveaway givers at our raffle! And several gals who purchased additional tickets took home some great loot! Others did too, but those who got extra (we started the ticket purchase option last month) certainly increased their chances!

Other drawing winners were:

  • Jacquie Ingle – who got a gift AND will be our featured directory listing in March in our Premium Directory Listing drawing (just one of the perks of having a premium listing)
  • Elizabeth Carlson – got a selfie ring, tote and other GOGgie items in the “I read the email” drawing… it really is rewarding to READ the official monthly GOGs announcement <wink>
  • Crystal Larson-Looney – won a FREE MEETING in our New Gal Drawing! Remember there were 5 new gals? Well any time we reach 5 new gals, the newbies and the gals who referred them are entered into a drawing for a FREE MEETING! Crystal was a new gal herself AND she also referred another gal – all in the same month!

Congrats to all our winners!

As for the amazing GOGs Team, on duty this month were Amy Arends, Andreina Leal-Carrillo, Diane Kershaw, Elizabeth Carlson, Erin Atkins and Nicole Douglas. For Andreina, Diane and Erin, we kinda just threw them in the swimming pool… and guess what? They swam swimmingly!! We also introduced a new TEAM GOG Role – The GOG Photog… and our gal Amy Arends knocked it out of the park with some great shots!

And finally, we introduced the new GOGs online calendar! Yes, at the meeting we still do “Rapid Fire Upcoming Events and Offers”, but now, a gal can back that up with an event or offer listing on the GOGs Calendar!

Such a great meeting! Lots of connections and interactions and laughs, smiles and of course, lot of love! Can’t wait to see what next month’s “Spring into Action” March meeting will bring!
